Alright here is another idea, it deals mostly with DAing and afking.

So the basic idea here is that gms will get 2 new verbs DA Punish and AFKing Punish

Every player will have a variable called PunishRating.

Basically here is how it works. The whole idea is to truly punish people who are always DAing/AFKing and to let the people who have accidental DA's(byond crashing, etc) off the hook.

So basically, You get caught DAing. The GM uses DA punish on you, the punishment itself is determined by the amount of PunishRating. So if your PunishRating = 0, then you are only banned from server for 15minutes. However, this increases your PunishRating to 1.

So again you get caught DAing, well your PunishRating is already 1, so now when the GM uses DA punish on you, your banned for 30 minutes plus your PunishRating increases again.

etc etc

Now your PunishRating is 15 and again you get caught DAing and GM uses DA punish on you, now you are banned for a solid week.

So forth and so forth the more times you DA and longer your ban is, it increases everytime.

The whole idea is to stop continual death avoiders, while letting the people who make mistakes once in awhile not be punished as hard.

This is a good idea but it should be auto, GMs should only have removePunishrate because I do know that most of them would abuse of it and use it 30 times in a player because they hate them or because they think that player deserves it. So if a player accidently DAs he brings a screenie to the forums and a gm would use that verb to take the rate out instead of giving it unfairly.

People should learn the first time.

AFK trainning? Start those off at 24h... then 48... and so on. Since AFKing is more severe then DA'ing. We shouldnt give them 15 tries before banning for a week.

You could have a disconnect more than once you know.....i mean unless there's a wipe and maybe not even then it' not lke your punish system points are ever gonna go down

Here's what I think.

Add two seperate variables for a user. First would be DPunishLevel, which is automatically set to 0. Second would be AFKPunishLevel, which is 0. These are not tied to your mob, or key. They're tied to your IP Address.

If someone logs out while KO'd, or Dead, it should automatically raise their DPunishLevel by 1, and auto-ban them for 2 hours. If it goes to 2, it auto-bans for 4 hours, and so forth. Once it gets to 20, it should perma-ban, and they will not be unbanned until an admin unbans them. If you DA 20 times, you don't deserve another chance for a while. GM's wouldn't gain a Raise DPunishLevel, only a RemoveDPunishLevel. This makes it more fair, incase a GM decides to abuse.

And for AFKPunishLevel. This has a max of 5. If you're caught AFKing, a GM uses their AFK_Punish() verb on you. This raises your AFK Punish Level by 1. 1=24 Hours, 2=48 Hours, 3=96 Hours, 4=192 Hours, and 5=Permanent until Unbanned by an Admin. Like DPunishLevel, AFKPunishLevel is tied to your key.

The only verbs a GM would get it Raise_AFK_Punishment_Level() and Remove_Punishment_Level()<--Which works for both D and AFK Punishing.

Ouch thats really harsh considering some people legitly have d/c's do to bad internet...severe stoms ect.

Whats harsher is that it comes from an open afker =/

Edit:2hours for one possible d/c thats bs =/.Now maybe 30 minutes and how exactly would they know if we daed if done automatically....it could bug up and give us point everytime we log off >_>

I'm a self hating AFKer. I want to punish my kind. I'm like Hitler, who was secretly jewish. -glares at Hebrew Hammer- SIC SEMPER TERRANIS.

But anyway, if you're fighting in a storm, and disconnect ALL THE TIME, then you prove it, and have an admin/gm remove your DPUnishLevel.

that is for the first lvl, each time the level increases and the time doubles. DA's do happen from byond crashes and other things and i would bet that just about everyone has had an accident DA happen before.

if the person is constantly DAing then the punish is going to increase hugely. at first it may be 15 minutes but soon its going to be hours

I didn't say ALL THE TIME .....But a 2hour ban for a one time accidental offense is bs and like i said how would it work automatically?I can see it bugging up and giveing people Da points everytime they log out like the baws.
